The Pack Christmas Party has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 22nd beginning at 6pm. Come join the fun as we do all kinds of fun activities and enjoy good food and even a visit from Santa. There will also be opportunities to work on scouting advancements and our Bears can earn their "Whittling Chip".
Webelo Scouts Nick Adams, Zakery Arrowood, Devon Caudill, Gavin Riddle and Perry Taylor were awarded the coveted "Arrow of Light" award at the Pack Thanksgiving Banquet. The "Arrow of Light" is the highest award earned in Cub Scouts and a special ceremony was held to recognize this accomplishment. The awards were presented to the scouts by their parents.
Pack 219 Cub Scouts collected 444 lbs of food items for the BUCM this year.

Pack 219 has kicked off the 100th Anniversary Celebration of Scouting by having all registered leaders participate in the "Year of Celebration" recognition program. This program is designed to provide a meaningful way to participate in the 100th Anniversay while increasing awareness in the core values of Leadership, Achievement, Community Service, Character and the Outdoors.
Once the program has kicked off and is in full swing with the pack leaders, Pack 219 will expand the program to include the Cub Scouts and Den Chiefs.
Glen Alpine Scouts from Pack 219 and Troop 197 participated in the Burke County Veteran's Day ceremony at Patton High School and honored local veteran's by presenting them with stars from retired American flags in recognition for their service to our nation. The scouts are pictured with Dale Wilson, a USMC veteran and 2009 National Disabled Veteran of the Year.
Pack 219 has started gathering items for two care packages that will be sent to local troops serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. We will be sending a package to Spc. Allen Schoenen and Spc. Joe Winebarger, who are currently deployed to Iraq. Another package will be sent to Sgt. Obie Carswell, who is currently serving in Afghanistan. All three of these soldiers are from Burke County and are serving their country proudly. Pack 219 has a proud history of sending care packages to our troops and we are honored to be able to do this again this year. A supply list will be posted on the website, as well as at GAUMC.
BSA has announced that 11 additional Belt Loops and Pins are available for the '09-'10 scout year. The new additions are Abilities Awareness, Family Travel, Good Manners, Hiking, Hockey, Horseback Riding, Pet Care, Photography, Reading and Writing, Skateboarding and Video Game.
